Polaris IT Solutions Inc. is looking for its first dedicated data hire – a versatile professional who can own the entire data lifecycle. This hybrid role combines the technical foundation of a Data Engineer with the business-driven insights of a Data Analyst. You’ll build the data platform, define key metrics, and turn raw data into actionable insights that directly influence product, marketing, and strategic decisions.

  • Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Define, track, and report on critical business metrics and KPIs.

  • 3+ years in a data-focused role (Analyst, Engineer, or similar).
  • Proficiency in SQL and data modeling.
  • Strong Python skills for pipeline development.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, Looker, etc.).


  • Workflow orchestration (Airflow or similar).
  • Experience with data governance/catalog tools (dbt, Apache Atlas).
  • Knowledge of A/B testing and statistical methods.
  • Background in B2B SaaS or e-commerce.

Key Responsibilities

As a Data Engineer (The Builder):

  • Build the Data Platform: Design, build, and maintain end-to-end ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • Architect the Infrastructure: Select and implement core data infrastructure (cloud data warehouse, data lake).
  • Ensure Data Integrity: Create robust data quality checks, monitoring, and governance standards.
  • Manage Data Sources: Connect and manage data from APIs, databases, and event logs.

As a Data Analyst (The Insight Generator):

  • Drive Business Decisions: Perform deep-dive analyses to uncover trends and opportunities.
  • Define and Track Metrics: Partner with teams to define and monitor KPIs.
  • Create Dashboards & Reports: Build and maintain BI dashboards for company-wide accessibility.
  • Present Findings: Translate complex analyses into clear, actionable business recommendations.

As a Data Governance & Lineage Lead (The Guardian):

  • Establish Data Governance: Define ownership, standards, and access policies.
  • Manage Data Lineage: Document and maintain data lineage for transparency and trust.
  • Ensure Compliance: Implement foundational data security and privacy protocols.

Must-Have Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in data-focused roles.
  • Strong SQL proficiency for analysis and modeling.
  • Solid Python skills for data pipeline development.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and tools.
  • Proficiency with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
  • Excellent communication skills for both technical and business audiences.

Nice-to-Have Requirements

  • Experience with Airflow or other orchestration tools.
